The Queen of Cups takes us deep into the waters of emotions; feeling her way intuitively through life.
She relates to the sign of Cancer. Ruled by the Moon and flowing with the tides, the Queen of Cups has a heart big enough for the world. She wants to take care of everyone. That is what makes her happy.
Home, healing and compassion are her gifts to give. She is the mother, the nurturer. Many times she over gives and this is when she needs to retreat into her shell to regenerate and tap into what is hers and what is not. When you come to her home she will feed you, hug you and make you feel cared for.
This can also go the wrong way. The Queen of Cups can over-mother and suffocate those she loves. It comes from the best of intentions… but doesn’t go over well.
She swims the deep waters and has pearls of emotional wisdom to share.
This is the card I created for the collaborative International Tarot Day Deck. You can find more about that here. I wanted to give her a sense of ampleness; ample love and caring that she fully shares. She has pearls in her hair because she is tapped into the wisdom of the sea. It is so perfect that today is a Full Moon and the Sun is in Cancer… also it is my wonderful Cancer Husband’s birthday!
